Amsterdam is a difficult city to move in. Narrow canal houses, steep and twisting staircases, streets where a van cannot simply park and a temporary parking exemption that has to be arranged in advance. Moving lift for Amsterdam canal houses
If your sofa or wardrobe will not fit through the staircase, we bring a moving lift and take your furniture in through the window or balcony. It costs EUR 125 per hour on top of the hourly rate. Send us photos of the facade and the stairs and we will tell you in advance whether it is needed.
Office and business moves
We move offices, shops, practices and storage, in the evening or at the weekend so that your business keeps running during the day. You receive an invoice in the company name with a two week payment term.
Old furniture removal when you move out
Most rental contracts in Amsterdam require you to hand the flat back empty. Whatever is not coming with you, we load separately on moving day and take away: an old sofa, a mattress, a wardrobe that will not survive another move. We do this as part of a move, not as a standalone waste collection service.
Tell us in advance what stays behind, or send a photo, and we will reserve the space and the time for it. Building waste, paint, batteries and asbestos we cannot take.
Hiring movers without a van
If you have arranged transport yourself, you can hire the manpower only, from EUR 55 per hour per person excluding VAT with a two hour minimum. This works well for a single room, a few heavy items or a move inside the same building.
What a move in Amsterdam costs
The hourly rate depends on the number of movers: EUR 75, 115, 159 or 195 per hour excluding VAT, with a two hour minimum. On top of that come transport costs of EUR 1.15 per kilometre outside Amsterdam, and a moving lift at EUR 125 per hour if your staircase calls for one.
What really decides the price is the volume, the floor, whether there is a lift and how far the van has to stand from the door. Send us that information and you get a firm quote rather than a guess.

Do you speak English?

In most of Amsterdam you do. The city issues a temporary parking exemption, and you should apply a few working days in advance. Tell us your street and we will tell you what applies.
